Bureau of Corrections Director Ernesto Diokno is pushing the transfer of high profile prisoners at the NBP (New Bilibid Prison) to penal colonies in the provinces.

But De Lima said, the action they made only gave more freedom to some prisoners to continue their illegal activities.

“Na-diskubre later na mas libre sila (inmates) doon. Hindi na-serve ang purpose kasi since mas konti ang ‘na-corrupt’ nila doon na mga tao, mas namayagpag sila, labas-pasok sila. So ibinalik sila ulit [sa NBP],” she told Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday.

De Lima already transferred the 19 high profile prisoners before from NBP to a much secured place in Manila. However, they were eventually moved back and were placed in a secure Building 14 inside the prison's compound.

Meanwhile, the government is considering the transfer of certain prominent or high-profile prisoners to secure jail facility in either Camp Aguinaldo or Tanay in Rizal or an island.
