Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa is proving to be “in demand” as far as guesting on various television programs and talk shows are concerned.
The mean-looking yet charismatic PNP chief was spotted on the boob tube against Thursday (July 21), this time on ABS-CBN’s popular noontime variety show, “It’s Showtime”.
Dela Rosa was the featured celebrity player on the show’s “Trabahula” segment. In the game, the player is made to guess who among four “‘madlang workers” is the genuine person with the specified job.
Dela Rosa was presented with four farm workers during the particular episode.
However, Bato was entertaining the audience even before the actual game as he bantered with hosts Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro.
During the trio’s interview with Bato, the latter once again stressed his loyalty to his wife, Nancy.
“Kapag niloloko mo asawa mo, winawasak mo pamilya mo,” he said, drawing applause.
He then joked how President Rodrigo Duterte–another mean dude–is actually more “merciful” than his spouse since the chief executive would still listen to his explanation whenever he screws up.
“Kapag may ginawa akong pagkakamali, case closed na!” Bato said, referring to his wife.
He also referred to himself and his better half as “Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan”, since they currently live at the “White House” in Camp Crame.
The White House of course is also the name of the United States president’s official residence.
The hashtag #ShowtimeRocks trended nationally during the Trabahula segment with Dela Rosa, whom Vice described as “cute”.
On Wednesday, Dela Rosa guested on GMA’s “Unang Hirit” and even cooked “maruya” for the hosts.
Last week, Bato was interviewed on “The Bottomline with Boy Abunda” wherein he talked about his parents and his motivation as PNP chief. (Samantha A. Giron)
