Philippine National Police – Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) found contraband items including flat screen TV, tablet, Philippine Peso, Chinese Yen, and Dollars during the first day of Oplan Galugad inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) yesterday.
The said belongings are strictly prohibited inside the NBP. Other confiscated possessions are signal boosters, packs of cigarettes, and knives.
Department of Justice secretary Vitaliano Aguirre asked for an immediate investigation to find out how the prohibited belongings entered the maximum security compound of NBP.
Aguirre added that he will not tolerate such incident and will directly form a team to investigate the said incident. He said that he wanted to know who is behind of it.
Aguirre and PNP chief Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa immediately inspected all confiscated possessions
PNP chief Bato personally met the three high-profile inmates leaders behind Commando Gang namely Herbert Colango, Peter Co, and Jayvee Sebastian.
This is the first day of Oplan Galugad for the term of secretary Aguirre under the Duterte administration.
Last Oplan Galugad conducted under the former President Benigno Noynoy Aquino, deadly weapons like blades, batons, knives, steel pipe were found and confiscated. Appliances like DVD players, LED televisions, microphones were also discovered.
The Oplan Galugad aims to prevent the possible incidence of criminal and illegal activities inside NBP.
Kailangan matukoy kung paano nakapasok ang mga nakumpiskang kontrabando nang hindi alam o hindi nahaharang ng mga prison guard. Dapat may magpaliwanag dito.
