LA UNION--A 1,000-square-meter marijuana plantation was discovered in Sitio Lilipan, Barangay Bayabas, San Gabriel,La Union last Friday afternoon.
A total of 1,800 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants were uprooted and burned.
Police Senior Inspector Allan Rupisan of the San Gabriel Municipal Police Station said cultivators have made far-flung areas convenient plantations of marijuana.
“Nag-text po ang ating confidential informant, informing us that a marijuana plantation, eh nakita niya," said Rupisan. 
Authorities were not able to apprehend any cultivator. 
The destroyed marijuana plants were worth P360,000.
The police investigation was still ongoing. 
Police said the registered owner of the land might be held liable for what happened.
