Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV sent a letter to Senator Alan Peter Cayetano for his uncalled for behavior during the Senate Probe last week.
“This is to express my apologies for my demeanor during last Thursday’s hearing of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights.” Trillanes said in the letter.
“It was brought about because of the intense passion and emotion of the moment. Nonetheless, it was uncalled for,” Trillanes added.
“Be assured that such incident will not happen again,” the senator said.
Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III and Senator Leila de Lima, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights also received a copy of the letter.
Cayetano and Trillanes clashed at the Senate probe on drug-related killings last week when Trillanes asked for Senator Leila de Lima to declare Cayetano out of order for taking up time of the committee to speak.
Trillanes ended up turning Cayetano’s microphone off while the latter was still speaking. Cayetano then accused Trillanes of “intimidation.”
Trillanes then asked De Lima to declare Cayetano out of order for taking up the time of the committee in questioning Matobato.
During the break Trillanes was heard telling Cayetano, “Hindi kita papopormahin,” to which Cayetano replied, “Senador ako, binoto ako ng tao dito, di ba?”
