“May gusto po ba kayo sa ‘kin?” Sen. Leila De Lima asked Duterte as she tried pleading the President to stop bothering and going after her.
The President again hit de Lima with tirades at the oath-taking of officers of the Malacañang Press Corps and because of this, De Lima released a statement asking the President to stop slamming her.
She said that she has felt pity for the President and she hoped for God to forgive him because of his acts.
“Our President is again going ballistic. Naawa na po ako sa ating Pangulo kaya patawarin na lang siya ng mahal na Diyos sa kanyang pinaggagagawa” De Lima said to the reporters.
She also said that Duterte is the most disrespectful and most morally wicked person for her.
“Suddenly, he’s now -- for me, he’s now the lowest, vilest man in the country sa sobrang kabastusan na niya that’s why, God forgive him,” the former Department of Justice added.
De Lima asked Duterte what he wants from her and asked him to stop throwing criticisms at her.
“Naawa na po ako sa inyo mahal na Pangulo, tigilan na ninyo ako. Ano po ang gusto ninyo sa akin? May gusto po ba kayo sa akin?” De Lima said.
De Lima was provoked to ask these to Duterte as the President is continuously criticizing her for her involvement in the biggest drug trade in New Bilibid Prison.
Moreover, the President already expressed his assurance that De Lima will soon go to jail because of her name being dragged in the illegal drug trade inside the national penitentiary.
"Itong si De Lima makukulong to, on a national case. Who brought in the narcopolitics? It is here already. You elected a senator who was into narcopolitics. Who was being financed from the inside.
'Wag na sana sa labas. From the convict inside the prison, this senator, and won. What do you call that?” the President said, quoting from GMA.
It can be recalled that De Lima used a self-confessed assassin and member of Davao Death Squad named Edgar Matobato to probe cases filed against Duterte concerning extrajudicial killings. Duterte said that it is a propaganda being used by De Lima against him.
“I do not ordinarily nagpapahiya pero si De Lima she screwed her driver and she screwed the nation. Gusto n'ya ko idamay," the President added.
Meanwhile, De Lima said that she already expected that the President will say these statements, saying that the President “really wants me out”. De Lima also accused Duterte of being the one behind the movement of kicking her out of the Senate.
