BERLIN-Philippines Senator Leila de Lima was this morning thrown out of the conference hall in Berlin amid meeting on Cultural Diplomacy (ACCD) in Germany.
Speaking to our correspondents, security officials at the conference hall told the FOX that Leila had gone out of order by mentioning Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte,
“She consistently mentioned Rodrigo Duterte’s name despite being warned by the speaker,we were instructed to kick her out of the hall,we just followed the orders from the speaker,” said one of the security officer at the hall.
Leila had promised to seek support during this conference in her bid to have President Rodrigo Duterte charged on violation of human rights in the Philippines.
“The conference is a perfect opportunity to bring forward the human rights issues faced by the country, including our respective experiences, and gather support for actions that mitigate the prevailing culture of impunity,” she said in a statement.
Members who attended the conference declined to listen to Leila on Duterte accusations saying that’s politics and that she should take the debate back to the Philippines.
The Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy (ACCD) in the German capital is focused on raising awareness and support for activities that will promote global human rights. It kicked off on 14th December.
